Inmate Visiting - Personal

All personal visitors must schedule an appointment using one of three options: online form, telephone or in-person at the ADC.

Inmate Visiting - Professional

Inmates are allowed confidential, unscheduled visits with attorneys, probation officers and law enforcement officials during designated hours. Attorneys not admitted to practice in Virginia and other professional visitors must request prior approval.

Mental Health Initiatives and Diversion First

Sheriff Stacey Kincaid has implemented several changes in the Sheriff's Office that are focused on behavioral health issues which affect approximately 40 percent of our inmates. She also helped spearhead Diversion First.

Inmate Housing

The Adult Detention Center has four styles of inmate housing based on security levels and special needs: single cell, linear, podular and direct supervision.

Weekend Confinement

The court can place an offender in the Weekend Confinement Program, which allows an inmate to retain his or her weekday job and serve non-consecutive time on weekends for his or her sentence.

Incarceration Alternatives

The Alternative Incarceration Branch, adjacent to the Adult Detention Center, offers residential and community programs for eligible offenders.
