A Certificate of Occupancy or NonResidential Use Permit can be applied for and issued when a building or premises is ready to be occupied and meets code requirements, pertinent laws, and ordinances.
Separation Permits are primarily used in commercial construction when a portion of the approved and permitted work for a structure or alteration is not ready for final inspection, but the rest of the project is complete.
