Board of Supervisors - Mount Vernon District Alert:
Fairfax County is hosting a second series of LED Light Bulb Exchanges at libraries throughout the county. The events will explain the benefits of LEDs and feature an interactive lighting display showing different types of bulbs. Participants can also receive one free LED light bulb, and up to four more if you bring in old incandescents or CFLs to exchange. The LEDs provided will be 60W equivalent, warm white, ENERGY STAR® certified, and non-dimmable. For more information, please visit our Energy Action Fairfax webpage.
Visit the Sherwood Regional Library on Saturday, April 6 to get your free LED light bulb!
Not only will you save money by getting free LEDs, but also you’ll pocket money from lower electric bills. You could cut your utility bill by at least $25 per year by replacing five traditional, incandescent bulbs with LEDs.
LED prices have declined 85 percent in recent years, and bulbs can be bought for as little as $2 to $5.
The giveaway is a partnership between Energy Action Fairfax, a county program to help residents become energy efficient, and the library.
