The hauled wastewater receiving facility may close occasionally due to construction. Please call 703-324-9389 for additional information.

Fairfax County accepts certain types of hauled wastewater at the Noman M. Cole, Jr. Water Recycling Facility from haulers licensed by the Fairfax County Health Department.

  • Liquid waste removed from a septic tank, cesspool, portable toilet or similar device that receives only domestic sewage
  • Restaurant grease trap waste (See Fats, Oils and Grease - FOG)
  • Recreational Vehicle wastewater (by appointment only)
  • Other waste types such as landfill leachate, commercial carwash water, sewage digester waste, etc. may be accepted after review.

Only wastes generated within Fairfax County, the cities of Fairfax and Falls Church, and the towns of Clifton, Herndon, and Vienna will be accepted.

Hauled industrial wastes are prohibited unless specifically approved.

Deodorizer and sanitizer products containing formaldehyde or 1,4-dichlorobenzene are not allowed.

Haulers may be required to provide samples from any load.

Approved Wastewater Haulers

Only sewage handlers with current Fairfax County Health Department registration or specially authorized haulers will be permitted to use the disposal facility.
