Wastewater Disposal

Fairfax County ensures excellent sanitary sewer service by surveying, monitoring and inspecting sources of industrial wastewater and if necessary, requiring best management practices and pretreatment to achieve regulatory standards. Industrial wastewater includes wastewater from industrial, manufacturing, business, trade, institutional, service or similar processes.

Wastewater Pretreatment

Some industrial users are required to pretreat their wastewater before it enters the sewer to remove pollutants and make it compatible with the sewer system and wastewater treatment plant.
