Families, Girl Scout Troops, and other community groups, and county staff dug in and “planted” hundreds of gardens to build awareness about child abuse and neglect. VPS School Supply Drive 2022

It is hard to believe that we are even talking about back-to-school when this school year is just ending! However, we want everyone to start thinking about gift cards for school supplies as we will start our annual Back-to-School Drive in July 2022.

We want to ensure all children in need in the community get a backpack and school supplies for the new school year. We are excited to partner with Comfort Cases and Camp Christmas in July again this year for backpacks.

Be on the lookout In July! We will be putting out the call to our donors and sponsors in the local community to help purchase gift cards for the extra supplies our high school students need. Please contact us if you want to donate gift cards for school supplies. Email Francesca Lovitt for more information.

Volunteer & Partner Services Ramping Up Volunteer Recruitment Efforts

Parenting Class facilitators with childrenOur volunteers and partners are the backbone of the Volunteer & Partner Services Program. We couldn’t do our work supporting children and families in our community without the commitment of each volunteer, donor and sponsor. Believe it or not, we are already planning our work for next school year, and recruiting volunteer mentors, tutors, and facilitators is essential. Check out the opportunities to help make a difference for families with children at-risk of abuse and neglect.
