Fairfax County Health Department has a strong training and exercise program for staff and Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers to ensure that the department, our response partners and the community are prepared for public health emergencies. Staff and MRC volunteers receive training on the Incident Command System (ICS), personal and family preparedness, and public health responses such as mass medication dispensing, shelter operations and new and emerging threats.
Exercises play an important role in preparedness by providing opportunities to test plans and identify areas for improvement in emergency response procedures. See the slideshow below of recent trainings and exercises from the Health Department.
