Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services is now hiring summer camp leaders! Have fun, gain valuable leadership experience and earn competitive pay this summer.

Training and orientation begin in mid-May, and camps run through mid-August. Camp locations are throughout the county, and hours are Monday-Friday during the day (no weekend).

Summer positions are for ages 18 and older with a high school diploma or GED. They are ideal for Ideal for students or young adults interested in recreation, education, youth development or special education.

Part-time job opportunities include:

Camp Counselor – Camp Fairfax

• Leads and supports daily programs for youth and teens. Salary: $17.44/hour.

TR Leader – Therapeutic Recreation Camps

• Leads and supports individuals with varying intellectual and physical disabilities. Provides participant supervision. Facilitates daily activities and assists with program planning. Salary: $17.44/hour.

Unit Manager – Therapeutic Recreation Camps

• Leads staff and supports individuals with varying intellectual and physical disabilities. Oversees designated participants and staff within a program space. Plans and facilitates daily therapeutic activities. Salary: $19.82/hour.

Director and Quality Assurance Staff – Therapeutic Recreation Camps

• In charge of day-to-day operations at a camp location for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities. Oversees all participants and staff. Assists with participant behavioral support. Salary: $21.75/hour.
