Fairfax County's 4-H program is currently seeking judges, community booth participants and entertainment acts for the 2023 Fairfax County 4-H Fair and Carnival. The event will take place at Frying Pan Farm Park in Herndon, Va. on Aug. 3-6, 2023.

Judges are needed for the 13 different exhibition categories:

• Clothing & Textiles
• Crafts & Woodworking
• Floriculture
• Foods & Nutrition
• Horticulture
• Interior Design
• Photography, Black & White
• Photography, Color
• Science & Technology
• Scrapbooks & Displays
• Short Films
• Visual Arts
• Writing

• Tuesday, July 18, 6 - 7 p.m., Judges Orientation (Zoom, 1 of 2 offerings)
• Saturday, July 29, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., Judges Orientation (Zoom, 2 of 2 offerings)
• Friday, August 4 (at Frying Pan Farm Park), 6 - 7 p.m., Judges/Superintendents/Adult Advisors Dinner (provided) and refresher training followed by exhibit judging at 7 p.m.

Community Educational Tables

There will be community tables space available for educational and nonprofit organizations. Tables are provided free of charge during the 4-H Fair weekend. Exhibitors should provide a hands-on educational activity (see signup for more details).

4-H will supply one six-foot table and two chairs, under a tent. Electrical hook-up is unavailable, and the use of generators is prohibited. This is not a vendor space; no selling or monetary transactions. Booth Coverage times: Saturday, Aug. 5, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and/or Sunday, Aug. 6, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Stage Acts & Entertainment

4-H is seeking to showcase local talent in stage performances and demonstrations during the 4-H Fair and Carnival. Time slots are available Saturday, Aug. 5, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 6, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Please keep in mind this is a family-friendly event. Stage acts are provided a free stage.
