The Commonwealth of Virginia has proclaimed Friday, May 9, 2025, as Child Care and Early Childhood Professionals Day.
Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services' Early Childhood Progams and Services division is a proud supporter of the day, and exemplifies the principles of the proclamation recognizing that every child is a precious individual, full of promise and great potential, and that the county’s child care and early childhood professionals work daily to ensure our children’s safety, health, and well-being, and further children’s educational and social skills.
“Fairfax County early childhood education professionals are an essential part of the community,” said NCS Deputy Director Keisha Dotson. “They not only keep our children safe, nurture their curiosity and prepare them for a lifetime of learning and growth, but also contribute to the economic prosperity of the County.”
Early Childhood educators work in nearly 2,000 programs in the county and take part in significant training and ongoing educational seminars.
Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services supports Early Childhood educators through a variety of programs and resources. Among them:
