The Wellness Center for Older Adults is a first of its kind center in Fairfax County, offering both virtual and in-person services for older adults and individuals with developmental disabilities. The goal of WCOA is to provide a wealth of programming designed to enhance the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of older adults and adults with developmental disabilities in Fairfax County. WCOA also serves to foster positive health choices among older adults through individual and group consultations, activities and health education programs. WCOA is operated by the nonprofit ServiceSource Virginia.
In March 2022, WCOA opened to allow visitors in the 50+ community to visit, pick up a calendar, use the fitness room, complete a craft to take home and talk to community partners available on site.
The Grand Opening of the WCOA will take place virtually on Thursday, May 19 at 11 a.m.
Members of the community are invited to watch the event live on Channel 1016 (Cox), Channel 16 (Verizon/Comcast) or stream online.
