On April 11, 2023, the Board of Supervisors authorized the consideration of a Plan amendment for Sub-Units J1 and J2 of the Fairfax Center Suburban Center to evaluate the mix of uses and allowable densities.
On April 14, 2026 the Board reauthorized the Fairfax Center Suburban Center Sub-unit J1 and J2, and Evergreen Investment Co. LLC, SSPA 2023-II-2F, in two phases as follows:
- Phase I - Allow for land use and density/intensity changes for 4035 Ridge Top Road, Tax Map Parcel 56-2 ((1)) 36 with specific considerations to include the relationship of residential use to the surrounding office uses, transportation network, public facilities, and adequate open spaces; and
- Phase II - Evaluate the mix of uses and allowable densities/intensities for the balance of the Fairfax Center Suburban Center Sub-unit J1 and J2, with specific consideration for future land uses, open spaces, transportation network, and supporting infrastructure.
