On December 5, 2023, the Board of Supervisors authorized the consideration of a Comprehensive Plan amendment for Penn Daw Fire Station, Community Shelter, and Affordable Housing (Tax Map Parcel 93-1 ((17)) 5, 6, 7, 8, A and B) in the Mount Vernon Supervisor District.
The adopted Plan for the subject area recommends non-residential uses up to 50 feet for Tax Map Parcel 93-1 ((17)) A, B, and 5; and 2-3 DU/AC for Tax Map Parcel 93-1 ((17)) 6, 7, and 8. These recommendations are found in the Beacon/Groveton Community Business Center (CBC) and the Groveton Community Planning Sector (MV5) within the Mount Vernon Planning District of the Area IV volume of the Comprehensive Plan. The Board requested that staff consider the collocation of a new fire station, community shelter, and affordable housing.
