On April 16, 2024, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors authorized the consideration of a Comprehensive Plan amendment for the sites located at 9224, 9300 and 9304 Ox Road, near the intersection of Hooes Road and Ox Road in Lorton. The property is currently planned for residential use at a density of 0.2 – 0.5 dwelling units per acre, as detailed in the Pohick Planning District of the Area III volume of the Comprehensive Plan.
The Board requested that staff:
- Consider detached residences for the subject property at a higher density, and
- Give special consideration to tree preservation and buffering from Ox Road, watershed and noise impacts, multimodal connectivity, and open space and parks.
This Plan Amendment is a Tier 2 review item and will be reviewed alongside a rezoning application, once such an application is submitted.
