The Comprehensive Plan Map was adopted by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors June 30, 1975 is and updated periodically to incorporate Plan amendments adopted by the Board of Supervisors. The title block in the upper right identifies when the map was last updated. It illustrates planned land uses, transportation improvements and public facilities with the Countywide Transportation Plan Map and the Countywide Trails Plan Map providing a detailed view of those respective elements of the Plan. The Area Plans (Area I, Area II, Area III, and Area IV) Maps and Plan District Maps provide depiction of these areas.
The Interactive Comprehensive Plan Map Tool is a geographic representation of the document that is used by the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, county staff and the public to guide land use, transportation and public facility decision making. The tool is updated as Plan amendments are adopted by the Board of Supervisors. The map includes such layers as planned land uses at the base level, special areas, and existing & future transportation features.
