Each year, when the academic year ends and kids no longer receive school meals, local food pantries struggle to keep the shelves stocked as individuals and families in need search for even more assistance to obtain healthy meal options.
To help alleviate the strain on our local food pantries, Fairfax County, in partnership with local grocery stores and community food pantries, is sponsoring a special "Summer Session" of the Stuff the Bus Food Drive. Collections will begin on Saturday, June 1, and run through Saturday, June 29, at various locations across the county - just look for the Fastran bus! All food and financial contributions will benefit a local food pantry serving the surrounding community.
