Institute for Early Learning - Professional Development

IFEL offers a variety of professional development opportunities through webinars and in-person courses. Below is information about upcoming sessions. When registration opens, monthly emails will include registration links.

To receive a certificate for in-person or webinar courses, please note the following requirements:

  • If the series requires two meetings, you must attend both sessions to receive credit.
  • If the series requires three or four meetings, you must attend all sessions to receive credit.
  • There is a 15-minute grace period. A certificate will not be issued if you miss more than 15 minutes of the session.
  • Please allow certificates to be issued within 2 – 4 business days.

For a quick reference, Child Development Association (CDA) Subject Area, Virginia Early Learning Development Standards (VELDS), and CLASS references can be found under each Professional Learning course. In addition, a reference to the CDA Subject Area can be found below.
