Local leaders and community members gathered on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025, for a ribbon cutting to open the Burke-Springfield Center for Active Adults (BSCAA).
Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services' newest facility, located at 7541 Huntsman Blvd., Springfield, serves adults ages 50 and older in more than 8,000 square feet located in a renovated former retail space. The BSCAA features flexible space, classrooms, technology access and more. The center, open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., offers a variety of classes and programs, including exercise, board games, art classes and more.

The brick-and-mortar location expands access and programming for the community, which participated in Burke-Springfield Center Without Walls' programming at various locations for more than 15 years.
BSCAA programs and activities are open to adults age 50 and older with an NCS community center membership. Membership is free for Fairfax County residents; some instructor-led classes may require a fee. To learn more and sign up, visit NCS community center membership.
