The Franconia District community is invited to learn more about Fairfax County Government and issues important to the area at the Franconia District Neighborhood College program that begins Oct. 1, 2026.
The free, six-session certificate program will feature guest speakers, interactive activities, breakout room discussions, networking opportunities, and information about advisory boards and other volunteer opportunities.
Franconia District Neighborhood College graduates will:
- Learn how Fairfax County Government works and how to get involved.
- Understand demographic profiles and trends within a community context.
- Explore topics that impact the social and economic well-being of the neighborhoods and communities.
- Apply principles and strategies for inclusive community engagement and outreach.
- Enhance leadership and problem-solving skills to improve neighborhood livability.
The program is sponsored by Franconia District Supervisor Rodney Lusk in partnership with Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS). Participants are expected to attend all six sessions. Language Translation is available by request.
