Mixed Delivery Program for Early Childhood Providers

The Mixed Delivery program provides contract-based publicly funded early childhood care and education (ECCE) services in state licensed family day homes (FDH) and center-based programs in the Ready Region Capital Area (RRCA).

Ready Region Capital Area (RRCA) includes City of Alexandria, City of Fairfax, City of Falls Church, Arlington County, and Fairfax County.​

Early childhood programs must be:

Step 1: Review the following resources and see if Mixed Delivery is a good fit for your program.

Step 2: Complete the Mixed Delivery Provider Interest Survey

  • Complete the interest survey and a Mixed Delivery specialist will reach out to you and to schedule an interest meeting.

Step 3: Engage Interested Families

  • Work with interested families and determine probable eligibility.
  • Use the Mixed Delivery Family Screener Form to create a Mixed Delivery waitlist so you are ready to fill them when slots are allocated to your program.

Step 4: Complete the Ready Region Capital Area's Mixed Delivery site application.

  • An application will be emailed to eligible programs.

January 

  • Interested sites complete the Mixed Delivery Provider Interest Survey.

 

February

  • Site administrators who completed the provider interest survey attend an interest meeting.
  • The Mixed Delivery specialist assists sites in determining: (1) whether Mixed Delivery is a good fit, (2) the site's capacity to meet requirements, and (3) estimate of the number of Mixed Delivery slots the site can fill (if allocated).

 

March-April

  • Sites that meet the required criteria and have identified eligible children can submit a site application.
  • The Mixed Delivery site application link will be emailed to interested and eligible site administrators.
  • Mixed Delivery site application is due April 30.

 

June 

  • Virginia Early Childhood Foundation announces Mixed Delivery slots allocated to the Ready Region Capital Area (RRCA).
  • Slots are first assigned to existing Mixed Delivery sites to ensure continuity of service for families currently enrolled.
  • Remaining slots are then assigned to new sites based on prioritization points.

 

July 

  • Mixed Delivery contracts are signed annually with current and new sites.
