Rec-PAC Gives Back Week Every summer, Rec-PAC children participate in “Rec-PAC Gives Back” theme week with each location participating in community service projects. Since 2010, Rec-PAC kids have donated over 7,852.85 pounds of canned food and delivered it to a local food bank to resupply their stock during a critically low season of donations. Rec-PAC Manager Mike Bonneville and “Buddy” the Rec-PAC mascot with staff of Inova Fair Oaks Hospital pediatrics ward receiving new toys for hospitalized children collected during Rec-PAC Gives Back week. Among the many activities during Rec-PAC Gives Back Week, Rec-Pac kids have: Contributed over 100 toys and board games for Children’s Christmas Program. Planted flower seeds around school common areas and clean up playgrounds. Collected used books and reading glasses to be donated to Fairfax County libraries for reuse. Collected and then donated clothing for local homeless shelters in Fairfax County. Written letters to local fire fighters and soldiers deployed overseas to say thank you for all their help . Collected box tops for schools hosting Rec-PAC over the summer. Collected cell phones which were donated to a shelter for battered women. Collected items for the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
