Equestrian
Equestrian events, shows, classes and other programs held at Frying Pan Farm Park, Turner Farm and other facilities.
Farming
Frying Pan Farm Park preserves and interprets a 1920s through 1950s farm, agricultural process, rural community life and landscape for the educational, cultural and recreational enrichment of citizens and visitors of Fairfax County.
Farmers Markets
Each May to November, ten sites throughout Fairfax County spring to life with the activity of an open-air market. The Markets offer a wide variety of freshly picked fruits, vegetables, and cut flowers. There are also fresh eggs, baked goods, honey and cider to purchase. Milk and cheese products, along with a wide array of meat products, round out the edible delights.
Gardening and Horticulture
Green Spring Gardens serves Fairfax County residents and visitors by advancing the awareness and practice of gardening. The gardens and educational programs at Green Spring focus on practical landscaping techniques appropriate for the Washington metropolitan area. The site includes a horticulture center, library, demonstration gardens, historic landscape and buildings, plus a wooded stream valley with ponds.
Gift Shops
Did you know that there are unique shops at all nine of our nature centers and historic sites? Each one is different, and the items at each one are carefully selected to support the interpretation of the site and to extend the experience at the particular park. Proceeds go to support the park, so your purchases go back into caring for our special places.
Healthy Strides
For those who want to keep their resolutions to be healthier, the Park Authority's fitness directors offer assistance in beating the high resolution dropout rate. Healthy Strides sets small, easy goals everyone can reach.

Historic Property Rental
The facilities operated by Historic Properties Rental Services are suitable for all types of corporate activities, as well as social gatherings. Cabell's Mill in Centreville, Clark House in Falls Church, Dranesville Tavern in Dranesville, Great Falls Grange in Great Falls, Hunter House in Vienna, Forestville Schoolhouse in Great Falls, Stone Mansion in Alexandria, and Wakefield Chapel in Annandale.
Information on Invasive plants
The Invasive Management Area (IMA) Volunteer Program is a community-based project designed to reduce invasive plants on our parklands. IMA enables community members to help protect the plants and wildlife of Fairfax County's forests while spending time outdoors, meeting new people and restoring natural habitats.
Multi-use Facility Passes
Regular users of Park Authority facilities can save up to 30% by purchasing a variety of multi-use passes. Passes for RECenter use, Golf Course, Ice Arena, and Skate Park.

Park Foundation
The Fairfax County Park Foundation supports the Fairfax County Park Authority by raising private funds, obtaining grants and creating partnerships that supplement tax dollars to meet our community?s needs for park land, facilities and services.

Picnic Rentals
The Fairfax County Park Authority has 23 parks with 49 reservable sites including picnic areas, shelters, amphitheaters, a patio area, and a gazebo. Our reservable sites offer a variety of amenities.

RECenters
The Park Authority's nine recreation and fitness centers are places where anyone can be comfortable improving their fitness level, whatever level it is. Friends and family can play together in the water or on the courts.
Scouting
Scouts can complete some or all the requirements for badges at Fairfax County Park Authority nature centers, historic sites, working farm and RECenters.
Trails
Hitting the trail - by yourself, with your family or with friends - is a great way to get exercise and enjoy the countryside in and around Fairfax County. Get information on hiking trails, biking trails, equestrian trails, the Cross County Trail and more.
Trips and Tours
The Park Authority offers trips and tours that vary from season to season year-round. Shopping, sporting events, festivals, day cruises, museums, beaches, New York City, railroad, historic, day cruises and winery type day tours are just some of the many trips offered.
