Tucked away in a remote river setting, Riverbend Park has over 400 acres of forest, meadows, and ponds. Trails include a 2.5 mile portion of the Potomac Heritage Trail linking national and regional parkland. Kayakers and canoeists can enjoy exploring many islands in the Potomac River. Serious anglers and families can bring a boat or fish from the shady riverbank. Nature highlights include spectacular river views, beautiful wildflowers and birds. Park grounds are open from 7 a.m. to dusk, hours posted. Gates are locked at closing time.

Facilities include a visitor center with snack bar, gift shop, exhibits and riverside picnic area. The park also has a nature center which is available for rent call 703-759-9018. The park's picnic shelter is available by reservation. Call 703-324-8732.

Riverbend's location along the Potomac River make it a naturally unique and sensitive area. Spectacular birding and beautiful wildflowers are just a few of the precious resources wildlife lovers come to explore.
The picnic area located near the river is equipped with picnic tables and grills. Perfect for family picnics. OPEN FIRES ARE PROHIBITED.
Riverbend Park offers programs, classes, and tours for all ages; with programs for school groups, scouts, families, and individuals. Don't miss the annual Virginia Indian Festival!

Trails through upland forests and along the river are perfect for short hikes with the family and if you are looking for longer more adventurous hikes Riverbend Park has the trails for you.
River InformationRiver Information
The upper Potomac River from Riverbend Park is a perfect spot to launch a canoe, kayak, or jon boats. NO jet skis, big boats, or tubes are permitted in this shallow rocky section.
Visitor CenterVisitor Center
A great place to take a break. Center includes self-guided activities for children, live animal displays,natural and cultural exhibits, snack bar, ice cream and gift shop. Public restrooms are located on deck of visitor center.
