Riverbend Park Hours and Fees

Riverbend Park has high visitation weekends and holidays, usually between 9:30am and 4:30pm. During high visitation, there may be significant delays entering the park.

When the park fills, entry to the park will close until enough parking spaces become available. During these delays, vehicles may not park near the entrance sign or along Jeffery road to wait. Consider returning at a different time.

Please respect our park neighbors. If the entrance road is backed up, do not stop on Jeffery Rd or near the entrance sign to wait.

Riverbend Park staff will be working to direct traffic and parking, please be respectful and follow their instructions.

Hours of Operation

Park grounds are open from 7 a.m. to dusk.

Closing times are posted at the park.

Gates are locked at closing time.

Visitor Center

March through October

Weekdays: 9 a.m.-5 p.m., closed Tuesdays

Weekends: Noon-5 p.m.

November through February

All days: Noon-4 p.m., closed Tuesdays

Facilities

Riverbend Park has a visitor center with snacks, a gift shop, exhibits and riverside picnic areas. The park's nature center, separate from the visitor center, can be rented by calling the park at 703-759-9018.  A picnic area and pavilion are available for rent by calling 703-324-8732.

Tucked away in a remote river setting, Riverbend Park has more than 400 acres of forest, meadows and ponds. Trails include a 2.5 mile portion of the Potomac Heritage Trail that links national and regional parkland. Paddlers enjoy exploring islands in the Potomac River. Families and serious anglers bring a boat or fish from shady riverbank. Nature highlights include spectacular river views, beautiful wildflowers and birds. The park features a magnificent display of bluebells in the spring.
