Coordinating Council on Aging and Adults with Disabilities Meetings

The work of the Coordinating Council on Aging and Adults with Disabilities (CCAAD) is largely accomplished by its committees. All meetings are open to the public and held in accessible locations.

General Body (Main) Meetings

The general body meetings occurs on the second Wednesday of every other month from 7 - 9 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 9/10, unless otherwise noted below

Committee Meetings

The Ad Hoc Housing Committee’s goal is to address housing-related issues in Fairfax County such as affordable housing, zoning changes and homelessness. The goal is to develop recommendations or solutions and to facilitate coordination between stakeholders such as the Board of Supervisors, community groups and developers.

The Advocacy Committee recommends policy changes to improve the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities.

Meetings occur on the second Monday of every other month from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 8, unless otherwise noted below.

The Communication & Technology Committee develops strategies to inform the community about the work of the CCAAD and county programs serving older adults and adults with disabilities. It also improves technology access and use by older adults and adults with disabilities.

Meetings occur on the second Friday of every month from 10 a.m. - noon at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 8, unless otherwise noted below.

The Equity in Aging and Disabilities Committee educates and promotes best practices in applying an equity lens to community-based aging and adult disability services aligned with the One Fairfax Policy.

Meetings occur on the second Tuesday of every month from 9 - 11 a.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 8, unless otherwise noted below.

The Membership Committee assesses the composition of CCAAD’s membership and recruits new members to ensure representation by geography, population and sector.

Meetings occur on the second Thursday of every month from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 8, unless otherwise noted below.

The Social Connection Committee enhances the lives of older adults and adults with disabilities by developing and initiating strategies to increase social connectedness and decrease social isolation.

Meetings occur on the first Wednesday of every other month from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 8, unless otherwise noted below.

The Steering Committee is comprised of all of the CCAAD Committee Chairs. The Steering Committee provides leadership and advice to the CCAAD on establishing guiding principles for the role of the community, the private sector and local government in providing equitable programs and services to older adults, adults with disabilities and marginalized segments of older adult residents.

Meetings occur on the first Thursday of every other month from noon - 2 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, Conference Room 8, unless otherwise noted below.
