On April 11, 2023 the Board of Supervisors (Board) authorized a Comprehensive Plan Amendment for the Reston Transit Station Area (TSA) Study (2023-III-6UP) as a Tier 3 item. On July 25, 2023, the Plan Amendments in the Reston TSA were reauthorized and moved to Tier 1 on the work program. On June 10, 2025 the Board re-authorized the Reston TSA Study to add five Plan Amendments, resulting in a total of fourteen Plan Amendments in the Reston TSAs.
The 7.2 acre subject site is located on the west side of Parkridge Boulevard north of Sunrise Valley Drive. It is developed with a three-story office building constructed in 1986 with surface parking. The nomination proposes adding an option for a residential community consisting of multi-family residential units and/or townhouses at a density of up to 1.35 FAR.
This SSPA is part of the Reston East Study Area.
