On April 11, 2023, the Board of Supervisors (Board) authorized the consideration of a Comprehensive Plan amendment for the Reston Transit Station Area (TSA) Study which included ten Site Specific Plan Amendment (SSPA) nominations accepted during the 2022-2023 Countywide SSPA process. These nominations are located in the Wiehle-Reston East and Reston Town Center TSAs. Initially classified as Tier 3 in the work program, this study was later reauthorized by the Board on July 25, 2023, and reclassified as Tier 1.

Each SSPA nomination authorized under the Reston TSA Study was assigned an individual Plan amendment number and will follow separate timelines from start to completion. Considerations requested by the Board for these Plan amendments include, but are not limited to, proposed land use mix, intensity, and other proposed changes. Community Engagement

Please join us in person for a Community Meeting on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at South Lakes High School Cafeteria - 11400 South Lakes Dr, Reston, VA 20191. Share your thoughts on four potential Comprehensive Plan amendments that would impact 26.38 acres across four sites in Reston, part of the Reston TSA Study and associated Plan amendments.

  2. 1950 Roland Clarke Place (SSPA 2023-III-12UP)

  3. Reston Corner (SSPA 2023-III-13UP)

  4. Roger Bacon Drive (2023-III-UP8)

Potential changes proposed by these Comprehensive Plan amendments include:

  • Changes in the mix of planned land uses,
  • Increasing the amount of planned housing,
  • Reducing the amount of planned office/commercial uses.
