ARB Meeting Dates & Agendas

Please Note: ARB Application Submission Due Dates have been revised, beginning in September 2026. Visit the ARB Application Process & Submission Schedule webpage for the full schedule.

The Fairfax County Architectural Review Board (ARB) generally meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Fairfax County Government Center, 12000 Government Center Parkway, unless otherwise indicated. Applicants should contact the DPD staff administrator, 703-324-1380 (TTY 711, Virginia Relay) for information on ARB procedures and to be placed on the agenda for a regularly scheduled ARB meeting.


Applicants must submit an application package containing supporting materials, drawings and/or plans describing the proposal to DPD staff THREE WEEKS before the meeting at which the applicant wishes to present the proposal using the PLUS application portal. The applicant must attend the ARB meeting to present the proposal. ARB and Lorton MOA submission due dates are available on the ARB Application Process & Submission Schedule webpage.

Public Comment

There is an opportunity for public comment on ARB cases submitted for action. Testimony may be provided in person, through a virtual platform (when meetings are held electronically), or through written statement by emailing the ARB Administrator by close of business 3 days before the case is to be heard by the ARB.

Written testimony can also be received by mailing ARB Administrator, Department of Planning and Development, 12055 Government Center Parkway, Suite 730, Fairfax, VA 22035-5505. Mailed written testimony must be received 3 days prior to the ARB meeting which the case is to be heard.
