On April 11, 2023, the Board of Supervisors authorized the consideration of a Plan amendment for Tax Map Parcels 49-3 ((34)) 2929 and 2932 to allow redevelopment as residential mixed use up to 3.0 FAR, consisting of multifamily units and ground floor nonresidential uses. 

Specific considerations for this infill proposal will include compatibility with the scale and character established in the neighboring Mosaic District Town Center, and evaluation of the potential impacts to existing uses on adjacent parcels, and balance of currently planned parks, open space amenities, and public facilities.

The Board of Supervisors adopted 2023 Comprehensive Plan Work Program, authorizing the Sequoia Capital SSPA nomination for formal planning review and community engagement.

Merrifield SSPA Plan Amendments Kick-off Meeting
Monday, September 18, 2023
The Office of Providence District Supervisor Dalia Palchik and the Department of Planning and Development hosted a community meeting to introduce initial planning considerations for the Alliance Center site and two other plan amendments being studied in the Merrifield Suburban Center. The discussion included information that was provided on behalf of the property owners along with feedback and questions received from members of the Merrifield community. 

Public hearings for this Plan amendment have not been scheduled.
