After School Programs (Grades 1 - 12): What are your kids doing after school? At James Lee Community center, we offer a wide variety of activities, classes and experiences all in a fun and safe environment. Choose from among the following:

Adult Programs (18 and over): James Lee Community Center offers numerous opportunities for adults to be physically and mentally fit as well as socially engaged.

• Enjoy self-guided workouts in our Fitness Center.
• Join in a game of basketball or other activity during open gym hours.
• Participate in a wide variety of personal and professional development classes and workshops.
• Engage with your neighbors at special community events.

 
Technology Programs: Technology is the wave of the future and we can help you learn to surf. James Lee Community Center offers technology programs for all ages.

• Clubhouse Network (afterschool program for children and teens)
• James Lee Robotics
• Tech Literacy and Education Programs for all ages includes topics from the use of email and social media to coding and emerging tech.

 
Community Theatre: Don't forget to enjoy a number of productions from local theatre and cultural groups during the year in our community theatre! Please contact our staff to inquire about upcoming productions and tickets.

Therapeutic Recreation Services (TR) provides opportunities for children and adults with disabilities to develop the skills that enable them to participate in the recreation and leisure programs of their choice.

TR works in conjunction/tandem with regional services to ensure that we are creating a culture of inclusion within our centers. We work alongside of NCS Culture, Recreation, and Community Connections staff and the inclusion specialist to provide services and programs for individuals of all abilities, allowing and promoting access to the sensory space at James Lee to all participants.

On occasion, inclement weather may affect the operation of Fairfax County Community, Teen and Senior Centers. Decisions regarding the delayed opening or closure of county facilities are made with the utmost regard for the safety of our participants and staff.

In the event of inclement weather, the Department of Neighborhood and Community Services (NCS) posts all facility closures and delays online. You may also learn of status updates by contacting your selected Community Center, Teen Center or Senior Center directly or by calling the Neighborhood and Community Services Main Office at 703-324-4600, TTY 711.

NCS Community Centers serve as warming and cooling centers during extreme weather. Staff are prepared to accommodate any community walk-in needs during operating hours. Visitors using the center for warming/cooling services will not have access to community center programming/classes unless they are a current registered member.
