Adult Day Health Care Program and Activities

Days at the Adult Day Health Care Centers are filled with energy, excitement and laughter! On any given day, a participant might enjoy a visit from a therapy animal, a karaoke party, a card game, a volleyball game or any of our dozens of activities, planned by highly experienced recreational therapists and nursing staff. Concurrent activities and events ensure there is something for everyone to enjoy throughout the day — whether you’re an introvert or extrovert, crafter or history buff, performer or competitor.

Adapted exerciseExercise and Fall Prevention

Physical activity is part of each participant’s day. Morning strength training exercises promote flexibility and mobility. Participants can also engage in our Walker Clubs, Tai Chi program or NuStep nautilus machine. Our centers are handicap friendly with appropriate ramps, pull bars, widened doorways, flat walking surfaces and other amenities to make mobility easy for our participants.

Promoting Memory Care

We want our participants to enjoy themselves and succeed, so we match activities to their cognitive ability. Whether it is a craft, puzzle, card game or history talk, we engage participants in activities appropriate for them.

Health Monitoring

Each center has a highly skilled medical staff who oversee each participant’s health needs. This includes identifying emerging medical issues, administering medication and working with caregivers to monitor any behavior or physical changes.

Music and Memory

Memory care is about igniting all areas of the brain. That’s why we are a certified Music and Memory provider — a program that uses music to help those with dementia decrease agitation and stimulate their brain.

Social and Spiritual Programs

Socialization is important to the care of people with dementia as conversation engages the brain. New friendships are a guarantee at our centers. We also see to the spiritual needs of participants.

Day Trips

The zoo, the mall, the Cherry Blossom Festival, fishing: getting out and about is important for socialization and health. Day trips enable new experiences in a safe environment.

Safety

Each of our centers is equipped with safety features such as alarmed doors. Above all, our staff are trained to recognize signs of wandering risks among participants so we can keep everyone safe.

Personal Care Assistance and Meals

Breakfast, lunch and a snack are provided, and we ensure safe eating. Participants enjoy meals together in our dining rooms, which are typically decorated for the season. Personal care assistance, including complete incontinence care, is provided.

Transportation

Hand-to-hand transportation is available to participants via Fastran.
