Burke – Springfield Center for Active Adults

The opening of the Burke - Springfield Center for Active Adults (BSCAA) in August 2025 marks an exciting milestone for the Burke - Springfield Center Without Walls as it transitions to a dedicated brick-and-mortar facility.

The new BSCAA location expands opportunities for older adults to engage in a wide range of recreation, education and enrichment programs – all in a welcoming and accessible environment. With more space and resources, the center enhances community connections and supports lifelong learning for Fairfax County’s growing older adult community.

Register today for BSCAA!

BSCAA programs and activities are open to adults age 50 and older with an NCS community center membership. Membership is free for Fairfax County residents; some instructor-led classes may require a fee. Sign up for an NCS community center membership.

From 2023-2025, the community was invited to attend a series of community engagement sessions to learn about the new center, share community needs and provide input on center programs/activities:

October 2023

April 2025

On occasion, inclement weather may affect the operation of Fairfax County Community, Teen and Senior Centers. Decisions regarding the delayed opening or closure of county facilities are made with the utmost regard for the safety of our participants and staff.

In the event of inclement weather, NCS posts all facility closures and delays online. You may also learn of status updates by contacting your selected Community CenterTeen Center or Senior Center directly or by calling the Neighborhood and Community Services Main Office at 703-324-4600, TTY 711.
