Substitute Relief Counselor Positions

Job Description: Provides direct care and supervision of detained youth in the Juvenile Detention Center. Relief counselors will be responsible for program implementation and behavioral management of residents on an as needed basis. Required work hours include 7-3, 3-11 and 11-7 shifts on weekdays, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications: Third-year college students majoring in courses in the behavioral sciences. One year work experience with children or adolescent groups may be substituted for one year of academic credit toward a bachelor’s degree; or, completion of a two-year certificate or associate's degree in behavioral sciences and two years of full-time work experience with adolescent/delinquent youths.

Selection Procedure: Evaluation of relevant education and experience. Personal interview of top-rated applicants.
