Residential or house location plats show the location of structures on an individual property. Copies of final location plats are on file for many, but not all, dwellings in the County.

Please note the following:
Documents available through this application are currently limited to those associated with residential single-family, detached dwellings. Documents related to townhouse, multifamily, and commercial development will be added in the future.
Available documents may include plats and permits. Not all plats will be usable for future building permits. For information about the re-use of plats, please refer to Technical Bulletin.
This application only includes documents created prior to September 30, 2024. Documents created after this date may be found in PLUS.
This application does not include folder notes or documents that pertain to multiple addresses.
If you are unable to find a particular document through the Zoning Property File application, you may request a copy of a residential plat or any other property document from the files of the Fairfax County Zoning Permits Section (ZPS) using the Plat Request form.
Document requests will be processed within 10 business days and if available, a copy will be sent to the provided email address.
Before requesting a plat, please note the following:
ZPS cannot guarantee that a requested plat will be available. ZPS files only contain plats that have been provided to the County for previous building permit review purposes.
ZPS cannot guarantee that a provided plat can be used for a future building permit application. For additional information about plats and building permits, please refer to Technical Bulletin #18-02.
ZPS files do not include plats for vacant land. For more information, please contact the Land Records Division of the Fairfax Circuit Court at 703-691-7320.
ZPS files do not include plats for properties in the City of Fairfax or the Towns of Vienna, Clifton, or Herndon. For more information, please contact the city or town.
