On September 12, 2023, the Board adopted an amendment to the Reston Plan, along with follow-on motions. The adopted Plan builds on the 2014 Plan that established the Transit Station Areas (TSAs). The Plan includes guidance on new topics, specific to Reston, including: the application of equity elements, consistent with the One Fairfax Policy; community health strategies; workforce development and the application of workforce development strategies; and revised guidance, as appropriate, related to heritage resource and economic development. The historic documents for the 2017 edition of the Comprehensive Plan are available online. The Reston Plans are located in Area III.
