County Collection Customer,
Independence Day Holiday Service
Please be advised that there will be NO CHANGE in the trash and recycling collection schedule for Friday, July 3, 2020 (In observance of July 4 Holiday) for customers of Fairfax County Government. If you have private collection, please contact your hauler.
To ensure that all trash and recycling is collected, please make sure that all materials are at the curb/street line by 6 a.m. on your regular collection day. Trash and recycled material must be placed inside the cart. Trash or recycling, except collapsed cardboard, placed outside the county-provided cart will not be collected. No privately-owned carts will be serviced.
Our administrative office will be closed on Friday, July 3. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020.
The Recycling and Disposal Centers at the I-66 Transfer Station (4618 West Ox Road) and the I-95 Landfill Complex (9850 Furnace Road) will both be open on Friday, July 3 and closed on Saturday, July 4, 2020.
The collection of cardboard placed outside of the county recycle cart resumed Monday, June 29, 2020.
Delay in Special pick-up (brush & bulk)
We are seriously running behind on special pick-ups due to volume. If your special pick-up is not collected on your regular collection day, please leave it at the curb/street line and it will be collected as soon as we can.
