Visitation Rules
- All visits will occur by appointment only. Persons arriving to JDC that have not made a prescheduled appointment will not be granted a visitation.
- Professionals visitations are limited only to persons directly tied to the resident’s court case such as attorney, probation officer, GAL, social worker.
- No more than two visitors will be admitted on any visitation day without prior approval
- All visitors are required to:
- be an approved professional visitor
- present a photo identification
- pass through a metal detector; submit to a clothing search with a security wand if the detector sounds
- leave cell phones, purses, backpacks, and briefcases in automobiles – FJDC is unable to accept these items for storage behind the Front Desk
- leave vehicle keys at reception desk prior to entering facility
- Do not give anything directly to your client/child.
- Youth may not access any electronic devices for any reason. Absolutely no taking of photos will be permitted.
- Children may not be left unsupervised in the lobby.
- Hostile, argumentative or disruptive visitors will be asked to leave immediately.
Appointment Scheduling
Appointments are made by contacting JDC's Reception Desk at 703-246-2844. All visits will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. Appointments may be:
- scheduled up to seven days in advance of the date of the visit
- scheduled the same day as the intended visit, but made at least 2 hours in advance
Professional Visits
JDC can only accommodate three separate professional visits simultaneously and no more than two visitors can be in attendance
- Professional visits can be scheduled weekly from 9:30 AM to 8:00 PM, excluding meal times (11:30 AM - 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM - 6:00 PM)
- Visits are scheduled in 1/2 hour blocks; 2 consecutive blocks of time maximum may be pre-scheduled
- Visitors may request additional time blocks on the day of the appointment; these will be granted based on schedules and availability
