Curbside Trash

Election Day Schedule - November 4, 2025

  • Trash and recycling collection will operate on the regular schedule for Tuesday, November 4, 2025 (Election Day). If you have private collection, please contact your hauler.
  • Our administrative office will be closed, Tuesday, November 4. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5.
  • The Recycling and Disposal Centers at the I-66 Transfer Station and the I-95 Landfill Complex will remail OPEN on Tuesday, November 4.

ACCEPTED CURBSIDE
(All trash must be bagged in the county trash cart)

  • Normal household trash
  • Syringes, Needles and Other Medical Sharps: Place in a sturdy plastic container (like a laundry detergent bottle) with screw-on top.  Mark the container "residential sharps” and put in the trash cart.
  • Broken glass should be placed in a taped box before placement in the cart.
  • Animal waste must be double-bagged before placing in the cart.

NOT ACCEPTED CURBSIDE

  • Ammunition
  • Asbestos
  • Automobile parts and motorized equipment
  • Bio-hazardous medical waste
  • Car batteries
  • Cement, concrete materials
  • Construction and demolition debris
  • Dead animals
  • Dirt
  • Drywall
  • Electronic Waste (Electronics including computers, TVs, cellphones, etc.) For pick up, schedule a Special Pick-up.
  • Fire Extinguishers
  • Household Hazardous Waste (including paint, motor oil, antifreeze, chemicals)
  • Liquids (including sewage and septic waste)
  • Propane or helium tanks
  • Rocks, stones
  • Lawn mowers (Take to Metal Recycling/White Goods Area of the I-66 Transfer Station or I-95 Landfill Complex. Lawn mowers must be free of gas and oil)
  • Sod
  • Tires
