Private Collection. In most cases, a private collection company picks up your trash. Residents are billed by the collection company or pay via their Homeowner Association fees. Find a list of Permitted Solid Waste Collection Companies.
County Collection. Some residents have trash collected by Fairfax County Government. Use the Does Fairfax County Pick Up My Trash? application to find out if you are a County Collection Customer.
What is picked up at the curb? If you have a private collector, contact them directly to find out what they collect. If you are a Fairfax County Collection Customer, visit County Collection Customers.
What is required? Your collector is required to provide a recycling system to you. For more information, visit Minimum Residential Recycling Requirements.
Drop off recycling and trash services are available to ALL Fairfax County residents and businesses.
