When life is hectic, stress can show up in myriad ways. But one great side effect of self-care is alleviating that stress. Below, suggestions from some of you of ways to lower stress:
- Eat chocolate
- Spend time with your pet
- Hug and talk with your loved ones
- Go for a drive
- Write poems
- Take a walk while listening to music
- Learn a new language
- Take a martial arts class
- Watch funny TV shows like "Abbott Elementary" and "Veep"
- Read a book recommended by your fellow volunteers: "The Gift" by Dr. Edith Eger, "When Things Fall Apart" by Pema Chodron, or "Atlas of the Heart" by Brené Brown
