To review Circuit Court Civil or older Criminal file you must fill out and submit the form below. All fields marked with an asterisk * are required.
Within two business days after submission you will be notified of the file availability and directed where to go to review it. FILES WILL BE REVIEWED IN PERSON.
Criminal Case files will be held for no more than ten business days after notification of availability, to allow you time to come in and review. More current files are available for review at the Fairfax County Courthouse. Files will be located in the Criminal Division on the 4th floor in Suite 409.
Note: JV file requests requires ID and that you are either guardian, guardian ad litem, defendant, attorney of record or commonwealth attorney
Civil Case files will be held for no more than four business days after notification of availability, to allow you time to come in and review. More current files are available for review at the Fairfax County Courthouse in the Civil File Room on the 3rd floor, Suite 320. Older Civil Case files are located at the Court's Offsite Records Center, One University Plaza, 4500 University Drive in Fairfax and can be reviewed there. Our oldest Civil Case files can be reviewed at the Historic Records Center, 4000 Chain Bridge Road on the first floor in Suite 1600.
