Showmobile Reservation Information

The Fairfax County Park Authority's Park Services Division is responsible for the operation and support of the County Showmobile program. The Showmobile is a mobile stage, available for rental for various outdoor events in the County. There are two Showmobiles available.

The Showmobile is available to the following groups and organizations:

  • Group A: Fairfax County Government departments, Fairfax County Public Schools, Civic Associations and other Fairfax County based nonprofit organizations (proof of nonprofit status must be provided.)
  • Group B: Fairfax County based businesses and organizations that do not meet Group A criteria.
  • Group C: Events sponsored by non-Fairfax County businesses or organizations. Entities other than those identified in Group A or B above.

Showmobile Reservation Procedures

The Showmobile supports a variety of Fairfax County agencies, nonprofit and private organization community events. Priority scheduling is given to Fairfax County Park Authority sponsored and partner events scheduled on the calendar, including support of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisor Summer Entertainment Series in the parks.

Applications are accepted beginning January 1 through October 31 and should be submitted at least eight weeks prior to the requested event date. Priority is not reserved to previous users for reoccurring annual events. Once a complete application is received, applicants will be notified within five business days of approval or denial of the request.

Due to the demand of the Summer Entertainment Series, the months of June, July and August are very busy and many requests may not be honored for your first choice of days. We are happy to work with you to find alternate dates or refer you to other local providers who provide similar Showmobiles for rent.

Use of the Showmobile is NOT confirmed UNTIL (a) your completed application is received by Showmobile Fairfax County staff; (b) your application is approved by the Fairfax County Showmobile Manager and (c) your deposit is received by Showmobile Fairfax County staff (if applicable);. For Groups (b) and (c), the deposit is one-half of the Showmobile usage fee.

If a fee deposit is due, please send your fee (check or money order) to: Fairfax County Park Authority, 12055 Government Center Pkwy. Suite 927, Fairfax, VA 22035, Attention: Showmobile. Make your check or money order payable to Fairfax County Park Authority. All payments are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please do not send cash through the mail.


Features of the Showmobile

    • Floor Space: 23 feet wide x 24 inches deep
    • Back Wall: 6 feet 6 inches
    • Doors on Back Wall: 28 inches wide x 6 feet 2.5 inches tall
  • Two sets of steps with handrails
  • Self-contained unit with fluorescent lights
  • Wheelchair accessible

Additional Equipment Available:

  • 4-foot stage extensions (upon request)
  • Podium
  • 30 folding chairs
  • Portable generator (30 amps and 115 volts)

An extension cord may be plugged into any 110-volt outlet for sufficient electrical supply.

An operator is provided with the Showmobile and will remain with the unit during its entire use.

INFORMATION ABOUT SHOWMOBILE USAGE

Prior to the date requested, the operator will contact the user concerning arrangements and to exchange telephone numbers in case of inclement weather. If you have other questions or special requests, please call the Showmobile Coordinator at 703-324-8633.

USAGE FEE CHARGES

Group A: Fairfax County Government departments, Fairfax County Public Schools, Civic Associations and other Fairfax County based nonprofit organizations.

Organizations whose function is to present candidates for local or state elected office also fall within this category. Usage fees are not charged to Group-A Showmobile users.

Group B: Fairfax County based businesses and organizations that do not meet Group A criteria.

A fee of $750 will be charged for the first 8 hours or less of use. An additional $65 per hour will be charged for use that exceeds the first 8 hours. Charges are computed from the time the Showmobile leaves County property (warehouse) until the unit is returned. All fee payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.

Group C: Events sponsored by non-Fairfax County businesses or organizations. Entities other than those identified in Group A or B above.

A fee of $1400 will be charged for the first 8 hours or less of use. An additional $175 per hour will be charged for use that exceeds the first 8 hours. Charges are computed from the time the Showmobile leaves County property (warehouse) until the unit is returned. All fee payments are NON-REFUNDABLE.
