Inclusion Coordinator
This position will supervise the operations of the leisure coach requests within the Access & Inclusion Branch of Park Services. Customers with varying ability levels and ages can request a leisure coach to support him/her in participating in FCPA programs as independently as possible. These programs can take place in our recreation centers, lakefronts, nature centers, parks, or golf courses in Fairfax County. The responsibilities include the following: onsite supervision of leisure coaches, including facilitation of trainings and meetings; program enhancement, process improvements, positive behavior strategies, and quality assurance; filling in the absence of the leisure coach; and managing incoming requests and effectively communicating with parents and Park Authority site staff.
Hours: 30/week including day, evening, and weekend hours, benefits eligible
Pay Range: $12 to $19 per hour (Based on qualifications and experience)

Overview: Become a swim instructor! Fairfax County Park Authority is seeking adapted aquatics in-structors for various rec centers located in Fairfax County!
Duties: Adapted Aquatics Instructors provide a special service to our customers, teaching students of all ages and abilities swimming and water safety skills. We offer several unique programs including learn to swim, aquatic exercise, and Special Olympics Swim Team training classes for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. Orientation to our program and shadowing a tenured instructor is re-quired prior to teaching independently.

Position Title: Leisure Coach

Hours: Varies depending on the season (Fall-Spring evenings and weekends, Summer-days and weekends)
Salary: $41 per hour
Overview: Fairfax County is looking for enthusiastic and creative staff (ages 18 and up), who want to make a positive impact on others, while having fun in the parks, recreation centers, and lakefronts.
Duties: The Leisure Coach’s role is to provide support to a child with a disability between the ages of 3-15, to foster successful participation in a Park Authority program. This support varies based on the customer needs and can include any of the following: in-person assistance for the partial or entire du-ration of a program, to help the child consistently learn the skills needed to participate independently and provide effective communication with parents at the beginning and throughout the program.
Minimum Qualifications: An interested applicant should have volunteer and/or work experience in the following areas of expertise working with individuals with disabilities: special education, recreation management, therapeutic recreation, adapted physical education, occupational or physical therapy, social work, or psychology.
