Position Title: Maintenance Worker
Location: Frying Pan Farm Park, Herndon, VA
Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, 4 days. Days and hours vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Salary: $15-18.40/hour based on experience.

Position Title: Farmers Market Assistant
Location: Green Spring Gardens
Hours: 15-17 hours per week

Overview: Under the direction of the Farmer’s Market Coordinator, this position will support the ten FCPA operated Farmers Markets across Fairfax County. Markets are open rain or shine from April to December.
Duties: Responsibilities include attending markets as needed to assist market volunteers, including set up and take down of equipment, taking attendance of vendors and enforcing market rules, procedures and policies in a calm, professional manner. Provide a high level of customer service to both vendors and customers. Assist in recruitment of volunteers, training and retention. Assist in volunteer communications. Prepare market volunteer handbook, promote the farmers market and associated programs at community centers, food banks, community health fairs, and other events.

Overview: Share your passion for nature with a diverse audience! Expand and enhance the programming and interpretation at Hidden Oaks Nature Center to reflect the cultural diversity of our area within Fairfax County. Liaison with local civic and community groups to ensure that Hidden Oaks’ nature-based and outdoor programming is reaching the diverse audience reflected in our local population. Plan, schedule, and implement nature-based interpretive programs tailored to meet the needs of underserved audiences, for example: after-school programs for low-income students; Spanish language programs for English learners; and programs in American Sign Language for the deaf community. Must be able to work within a team and function independently.
