Inclusion Coordinator
This position is responsible for supervising the operations of the leisure coaching program within the Access & Inclusion Branch of Park Services. Leisure coaches provide individualized support to customers of all ages and ability levels, helping participants engage as independently as possible in a wide variety of FCPA programs, including those at recreation centers, lakefronts, nature centers, parks, and golf courses across Fairfax County. Key responsibilities include supervising and supporting leisure coaches, facilitating trainings and staff meetings, implementing program enhancements, process improvements, and behavior support strategies, as well as ensuring quality assurance across service delivery. The position also manages incoming requests, maintains timely communication with parents and caregivers, and collaborates with Park Authority site staff to ensure inclusion services are delivered effectively.
Additionally, this position contributes to the overall mission of the Access & Inclusion Branch by supporting special events, coordinating sensory-friendly activities, and assisting with the planning and delivery of staff and volunteer training. The ideal candidate will possess experience with disabilities, strong leadership skills, experience in program management, and a demonstrated commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and adapted recreation. Hours: 30/week including day, evening, and weekend hours, benefits eligible
Pay Range: $12.41 to $20.50 per hour (Based on qualifications and experience)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum 2 year of work experience serving customers with disabilities
- Working towards an undergraduate degree in a related field (recreation, sped, education, APA/APE, TR)
- Experience facilitating trainings and meetings
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess a swim instructor or lifeguard certification through an accredited agency
- CPR and first aid certified
- Supervisory Experience
- Extensive customer service experience
- Undergraduate degree in a related field (recreation, sped, education, APA/APE, TR)
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Ability to deal effectively with citizen inquiries and questions
- Driver’s license recommended
Note: This position is scheduled to work a minimum of 1,040 hours and no more than a maximum of 1,560 hours in a calendar year. This position is eligible to receive limited benefits, including Medical/Vision/Dental Insurance Coverage, Flexible Spending Program, and Deferred Compensation.
