The Community Provider Strategy Team (CPST) is a collaborative network of community/county health and human services providers representative of Fairfax County’s diversity. The CPST strategically works to increase a collective capacity to serve and meet urgent and ongoing basic needs in the Fairfax County community. Considering racial and social equity in the development and delivery of services, the CPST examines and documents changes in basic needs service delivery in Fairfax County, identifies and solves service delivery gaps, and promotes best practices.
A community provider is defined for this Strategy Team as a community, faith-based, or county provider that supports and/or provides services in the continuum of basic needs and other human services in Fairfax County. Additionally, basic needs in this context are defined as access to food, appropriate health services, financial/housing assistance, transportation, and out-of-school time programming.
The goals of the CPST are:
- To interactively connect community providers for the purposes of countywide basic needs service coordination
- To facilitate information sharing that strengthens the work of community providers and supports community members’ knowledge of and access to basic needs programs or services
- To collectively identify needs and address gaps in the provision of basic needs services (i.e., access to food, appropriate health services, financial/housing assistance, transportation, and out-of-school time programming).
