Bats Unleashed and Nightly Wonders Revealed! 
Celebrate the winged wonders on International Bat Appreciation Day, April 17, as we recognize the vital roles bats play in our lives. Embrace the opportunity to observe these fascinating creatures during their emergence from hibernation. 

  • Bats Class, Saturday, March 16, April 20 or May 4, 7:30-8:30 p.m., Lake Fairfax Park
  • Bats - Friendly Flyers, Saturday, April 27, 7:30- 8:30 p.m., Burke Lake Park
  • Bat Night, May 11, 7:30-9 p.m. or May 24, 7:45-9:15 p.m., Huntley Meadows Park

​​Enjoy National Ice Cream Month with Two Scoops at the Park!

​Ice cream enthusiasts of all ages can rejoice that July is National Ice Cream Month, but there’s no sweeter way to celebrate than in the park! Whether in a cone, a cup or sandwiched between cookies, the Fairfax County Park Authority offers a variety of ways to embrace one of life’s simple, chilly pleasures. 


​​Creek Adventure Wagon Rides at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park​

Register for summer adventure, ECL style, with a wagon ride and splash in the stream to keep your summer cool! 

​Jun. 15, July 12 and Aug. 11, Choose between 6-7 p.m. or 7:30-8:30 p.m., $10

​Frying Pan Farm Park Wagon Rides 

  • ​Nothing says fun on the farm like a good old fashion wagon ride!  
  • ​Secure your reservation for a 30 min. ride while touring the farm 
  • ​Choose times between 10:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m. Mon.-Thurs. 
  • ​10:15 a.m.-2:45 p.m. Fri.-Sun. 
  • ​$5 for riders ages 2 and up

​Please note tickets for Saturday and Sunday or on-site only.
