The Fairfax County Park Authority 2024 Healthy Strides race — May the 4th Be With You! — will be held on May 4, 2024.
The 5K course follows a tree-lined, paved road through the park — it is wheelchair and stroller accessible.
Runners who want to step up their challenge can take on the 6.2-mile wooded trail that circles the lake.
The event also features a Kids Dash (ages 2-10). These are short dashes to the finish line for 5K participants’ kids. Kid Dash participants, their family and friends must wait until the 5K and 10K are over before leaving Burke Lake Park. We welcome you to enjoy the playground or cheer for the 5k/10k runners, as well as partake in the post-5k/10k refreshments and party!

Join us for this fun annual event! Awards and bragging rights go to the top 3 overall male and female finishers in each the 5K and the 10K as well as the top 3 male and female finishers in each the 5K and the 10K for the following age groups: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. All finishers will earn a commemorative medal and other race swag.
A portion of the proceeds from the Healthy Strides 5K/10K goes to the Fairfax County Park Foundation to support the Wonder Wagon mobile nature center. For information and to donate, please visit the Park Foundation website.
