The Drop-in Childcare at Mount Vernon Rec Center is currently closed for repairs and will re-open on Monday 2/2 at 4 p.m.
All golf courses are closed until further notice.
Facility Updates
- Mount Vernon Rec Center: The fitness center is experiencing fluctuating temperatures due to a mechanical issue. A repair part has been ordered. Please be prepared with layers and stay hydrated during your workout. Thank you for your understanding!
- Alabama Drive Park: Beginning in mid- to late- January, the Fairfax County Park Authority will be conducting survey work at Alabama Drive Park. During the survey, the basketball court and a portion of the parking lot will be closed . Work is expected to conclude by the end of January, weather permitting.
- Bull Neck Stream Valley: A section of the trail in the Bull Neck Stream Valley, located behind 1223 and 1225 Duchess Drive, Mclean, VA 22102, has been closed due to safety concerns. We welcome you to use the Trail Buddy app to identify an alternative route.
- Reston North Park: The playground at Reston Park is closed for ongoing renovations to replace aging equipment and improve accessibility. Due to weather delays, construction is now expected to conclude by the end of February. During construction, the parking lot will also be used for construction vehicles and materials. Please follow all posted signs.
- Pimmit Hill Park: The bridge at Pimmit Hill Park at the end of Storm Dr. will remain closed until further notice for repairs.
- Royal Lake Park: The Royal Lake Bridge Replacement Project is scheduled to begin in mid-December and is expected to last until mid-January, weather depending. Construction access will be from Lakeside Park and the nearby boat ramp and access road. Temporary trail closures may occur for public safety; please obey all posted signs.
- Pimmit Run: Construction for the Pimmit Run Trunk Sewer Improvement project is set to begin on or shortly after Oct. 20, 2025, and is anticipated to be completed by Sept. 5, 2026. This critical infrastructure upgrade will enhance sanitary sewer capacity to support future development. Portions of the trails/walking paths along Pimmit Run will be closed for public use during construction as required to maintain the safety of the work area. Please follow all posted signage.
