Facility Updates
- Lake Accotink Park: The blue-green algae bloom has been identified. While these blooms are seasonally normal and typically clear on their own with the rains, higher concentrations can certain blue-green algae produce toxins that pose serious health risks to people and animals. Fairfax County Park Authority is actively coordinating with the Virginia Department of Health. In the meantime, please remember that swimming and wading in the lake is not allowed at any time per our park rules. Avoid direct contact with the water and do not allow your pets to drink from the lake to be safe.
- Please check our Park Alerts webpage for updates before visiting and look for Virginia Department of Health signs at Lake Accotink Park.
